Sailmaker Street in Photographs

A couple of weeks ago we shared a photo of the custom, low country style house we designed for 1724 Sailmaker Street on Daniel Island once construction was complete.  Today, as promised, we’re going to take you on a short photo tour of the house.

Because this house is on a marsh front lot, one of our most important challenges was making sure we missed no opportunity to take advantage of the beautiful views.  As soon as you walk in the front door, your eye is directed straight outside to the views through the rear French doors.

As you walk in, you see the kitchen and dining are open to the living room.  A small sitting room filled with windows is to the right of the kitchen offering more views out to the marsh.

This house features two separate porches in which to sit and enjoy the view.  Off of the kitchen and sitting room there is a large screened porch with a fireplace.  This is the perfect place to establish a cozy outdoor living room.

There is a deep L-shaped covered porch with access from both the living room and master bedroom.  Not only is it a great place to sit and enjoy the view, but it is also near enough to the pool to watch the action while enjoying the shade.

There is a large bank of windows on the back wall of den as you come to the top of the stairs to the home’s second floor.  These windows offer unobstructed views of the marsh beyond.

This brings us to the end of our tour.  I hope you were able to see how all of the steps we took not only emphasize the views from the house, but also create living spaces both outdoors and indoors in which to enjoy island life.

Loved the house! Toured it during the home show.
Would it be possible for you to email us the paint color information, specifically the light blue used in the kitchen and other rooms on the first floor?
    Thank you,
