We’ve included descriptions of each member of our team below. We’re pleased to meet you and look forward to getting to know you!
Darryl A. Cobb, AIA
Our founding architect has enjoyed more than 18 years in the architectural field. A member of the American Institute of Architects, he holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. In the year 2000 he founded Cobb Architects, LLC, guiding the firm as it began serving clients from not only in the Charleston, South Carolina area but nationwide. His experience and ability to communicate easily with clients, builders, and others allows fluid progress during the design and construction phases of every project. His talent for innovative design and complete dedication to his client’s desires can be seen every day in the homes and buildings he has created.
Darryl has contributed his expertise as a member of several Architectural Review Boards and written the design guidelines for a variety of low country neighborhoods.
“I absolutely love the fact that I make a living designing buildings and homes,” he says. “To me, architecture is an art, like sculpture. It’s immensely rewarding when a homeowner moves into a home I’ve created, knowing that I was able to play a part in bringing their ideas and desires to life.”
Building crews often enjoy site visits by Darryl and his dog Wrigley, a Golden Retriever he adopted from a local rescue organization. In his spare time Darryl also enjoys boating, swimming, running, cycling, and supporting his favorite charities, the Make a Wish Foundation and Meals on Wheels.
Katie Bigbie
A part of the design team since 2003, Katie is a graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Design. Katie shares her knowledge of construction, and her experience working in various design styles with clients, assisting them with the design of their custom home. Additionally, she enjoys focusing her talents on interior design and working closely with clients during the construction phase of a project to make selections such as tile, light fixtures, bath fixtures and flooring, as well as choosing paint colors.
Timothy Hoskins
Tim has been a part of Cobb Architects since June of 2008. He received his Bachelor’s of Science in architecture from the University of Buffalo and his Master’s of Architecture from Clemson University. Tim has worked closely with our clients on both renovation projects as well as new construction, and enjoys the continued experience of working with clients from the beginning to the end of each project.
Mary Cobb
Mary has been with Cobb Architects since 2003. Her 30 plus years of experience in food and beverage management has given her the ability to handle the constant maintenance a working office requires while providing our clients with the most comprehensive customer service available.
